Where are all the Women?
It's an uncommon topic but something we should discuss. In the wild world of the outdoors, where are all the women? I've got some questions, so hold on and help me out.
I like to get outside and after, as do many people I know. I'm sure you get outside, and I bet many of your crew do too.
So that leaves me wondering, where are all the women getting after it together?
A quick google search of 'Women in the Outdoors' reveals pages of women doing rad stuff but seemingly solo.
So, where are their friends, crew, or people they get to share these experiences with?
Who's taking their picture? Perhaps their partner or friend, but generally speaking, you don't see groups of women pursuing adventures and activities together.
We're not saying that's not okay... Solo adventuring or getting out with your best friend or another person is great. But isn't adventuring with others awesome, too?
Do you find that with life and all of our crazy schedules that finding time to hike, bike, or explore outside with friends is often hard to coordinate? Is it easier to get out on your own?
We at ILLA are here to change that, to change the narrative on women in the outdoors.
We are here to help match you with like-minded females who are as eager to get out and into an activity as you. And at your similar skill level.
We're not trying to make large gaggles of girls but simply connect like-minded ladies in groups of 3-5 for their choice of adventure.
We want to know what you think. For example, do you like to adventure alone, always? Or are you looking for fellow friends who enjoy the outdoorsy and want to connect too?
Your schedule is your schedule. Our platform simply helps align it with others who may have similar availability and wants to do what you want to do, also.
As we grow and emerge, I encourage you to drop me a line at Heather@illa.co and tell me how you like to adventure.
Let's form a connection. Let's chat. Let's talk about these problems, possible solutions, and how we can adventure soon together.
